Position Overview:

The candidate will establish and execute a new marketing and sales program for software products that advance the capabilities and effectiveness of the logistics engineering industry. Products include warehouse management applications, material flow modeling tools, wireless communications infrastructure and advanced application interface tools. Target markets are medium to large warehousing, distribution and manufacturing companies, plus consulting companies that specialize in the logistics engineering field. Strong market growth is based on increased interest in eCommerce and an overall industry focus on logistics expertise as a competitive advantage.

Supported by a top-notch technical, management and customer support team, the candidate will be responsible for conducting market analysis, designing, developing and executing a marketing plan and executing a sales program, from lead generation through contract. The candidate will be responsible for the planning and quality execution of his/her own work in a loosely structured environment. There will be significant (>50%) travel required, but office location is flexible, centered on either our Little Rock, AR or Holmdel, NJ locations.

Responsibilities Breakdown:

  1. Market Analysis (10%) – The candidate will conduct a complete market analysis and keep the analysis current through industry, product and competitor changes. Significant input from the candidate is expected on product design and feature set based on market needs and competition.
  2. Market Planning (20%) – Based on the potential market and existing/planned product set, the candidate will design and develop a marketing plan that will result in appropriate product sales. This plan should include use of direct and indirect sales channels, proposed marketing materials, advertising/promotion methods and revenue projections by channel. Actual marketing material creation will be a responsibility of the entire team.
  3. Channel Management (10%) – With the support of the management team, the candidate will handle all interaction with any indirect sales channels employed. This would include agreement negotiations, performance assurance and ongoing market data gathering.
  4. Direct Sales (60%) – The candidate will conduct a direct sales program to meet desired revenue targets. This includes lead generation, sales presentation, contract negotiation and closure. Significant support will be available from the management, technical and customer support teams to conduct demonstrations and assume installation responsibilities.
